Biblical Bullae: Kings of Judah
Among the most recent archaeological discoveries in the Temple Mount area of Jerusalem are the seals of the kings of Judah, which serve as evidence for the historical accuracy of the biblical accounts found in the Books of Kings, Chronicles, Isaiah, and some Prophetic books. Among the most important seals discovered are:
The seal of King Jotham, who reigned from 750 to 735 BC.
The seal of King Ahaz, who reigned from 735 to 715 BC.
The seal of King Hezekiah, son of Ahaz, who reigned from 715 to 686 BC. This was the first royal seal from the Davidic dynasty to be discovered through documented archaeological excavations. The seal of King Manasseh, who reigned from 697 to 642 BCE.
